| Cosmetology A career in cosmetology can mean everything from working in a salon doing cuts, perms and colors, to working in the fashion industry creating looks for runway models and print ads. Cosmetologists do hair and makeup for movies and TV, including special effects makeup. They also work on stage at industry shows, showing the latest in styles and techniques, and teach the newest cosmetologists in schools across the country. Cosmetologists can specialize in color, texturizing, makeup, spa services, nail technology, or any other segment of the beauty industry. The cosmetology course in Michigan is only 1500 clock hours, and can be completed in as little as 11 months full time, or 22 months part time. In addition to mastering the skills required by the State of Michigan, Wright Beauty Academy gives you the opportunity to spend additional time exploring the areas that interest you the most. Our staff has a broad range of experience, and we sponsor Industry leaders who visit our schools to share their knowledge, both technical and managerial. |
